Lab manual for orsat apparatus

VSC Method 3 Orsat Analyzer. Method 3 determines CO2 and O2 concentrations and dry molecular weight of a sample from an effluent gas stream. The gas sample is analyzed for CO2 and O2 on a gas absorption basis, results are expressed in percentage units. For dry molecular weight determination, either an Orsat or a Fyrite analyzer may be used. orsat apparatus Specification Orsat Gas Analysis Unit, with our absorption pipettes of two compartment type. ml gas burette with outer jacket, manifold with stopcock, and aspirator bottles, palladium asbestos tube, adjustable spirit lamp for the analysis of CO, CO2, H2 and nitrogen complete in wooden cabinet with sliding door. An Orsat apparatus is shown in figure. It consists of three flasks to absorb different gases. Flask no. 1 contains caustic potash solution and this absorbs CO2 present in the flue gas. Similarly flask no. 2 and 3 contains alkaline solution of pyrogallic acid, and cuprous chloride solution to absorb O2, and CO respectively. ml of a dry flue gas sample is sucked in the eudiometer tube of the apparatus.

Orsat Gas Analysis Apparatus with 4 absorption pipettes of two compartment type, ml Gas Burette with outer jacket, manifold with stopcocks, and aspirator bottle, for the analysis of CO, O2, CO2 particularly in fuel and furnace gases, Complete in wooden cabinet with sliding doors. 4 Test Set Apparatus include following. Orsat gas analysis apparatus for 3 test: it is used to determine three gases like CO2, CO and O2. Orsat gas analysis apparatus for 4 test: it is used to determine four gases and it is available in two models one with palladium/platinum asbestos tube and without this tube. Orsat gas analysis apparatus Fischer type: used to determine five gases. Note: It can also be provided with PTFE stopcocks.
